CAREER ASSISTENT ATTORNEY

ASSISTANT ATTORNEY

At VILTOFT we look to attract the most talented people in order to maintain the high level of quality in our services. We offer our assistant attorneys an attractive training programme.

What do we offer?
As an assistant attorney with us you will receive training in all our fields of expertise. You will work on major cases together with our partners and attorneys, and already at an early stage of your training you will handle your own cases with direct contact with clients. It is important to us that you get litigation and arbitration experience, and we usually have no difficulty finding suitable cases for bar exams or High Court tests.

You will work with some of Denmark’s most skilled specialists, and while working with us you will gain considerable insight into our fields of expertise.

In return, we expect you be among the top of your class and possess a high level of commitment. You must be resourceful, a good team player and enjoy working independently and communicating with people outside the firm.

Who will you work with?
We do not have separate units in the firm, and our assistant lawyers therefore work for all our partners. This means great variation in the types of cases and clients you will handle, but also makes demands on your ability to coordinate and prioritise.

Throughout your traineeship period you will have your own tutor who will make sure that you get off to a flying start with us. Your tutor will typically be a young lawyer who you can ask for advice on all matters, large and small. He or she can also give you feedback on your written work if you wish.

Further formal education
Your practical in-house training will of course be supplemented by the mandatory theoretical education programme of the Danish Law and Bar Society, consisting of eight courses leading to a theoretical exam and the bar exam, which is a practical test in litigation.

In addition, the firm’s lawyers often teach on courses that our trainees have ample opportunity to attend.

Social life
Our workplace environment is pleasant and informal. Everyone in the firm plays a role, and your personality is therefore important. In addition to a number of social events for the entire firm, we arrange two dinners for all our lawyers, from partners to students, each year.

Terms and conditions
We offer pay and working conditions on a par with those offered by the largest law firms in Copenhagen. You will have your own office, secretarial assistance, free telephone and a home workstation. We also offer health insurance, and we have a canteen for our staff.

We conduct job appraisal interviews with staff twice a year.

If you wish to teach at a university, business school or other institutions of higher education we will look very favourably upon such activities and support you actively.
