Construction
For more than five decades, we have been a leading provider of legal advice and services to the construction and engineering sectors. Acting for employers, contractors, technical consultants, insurance companies, financiers, and investors, we have been involved in many of Denmark’s major construction and engineering projects over recent decades.
Our Cornerstone
Construction law has been the cornerstone of our firm since its inception. We have developed a depth of knowledge and understanding of the industry that sets us apart from most other law firms in this field.
We advise clients on all aspects of construction law, from the drafting and negotiation of contracts, general conditions, and special conditions, to offering guidance on insurance matters, regulatory issues, and claims of all kinds.
We also assist with risk management and dispute avoidance. In addition, we advise on public procurement matters, as well as litigation and arbitration proceedings.
We are involved in projects ranging from traditional building and civil engineering works to infrastructure projects, hospitals, process plants, power stations, and offshore projects, including wind farms.
Alternative Procurement Models and International Projects
In the pursuit of greater efficiency, the construction industry is developing new procurement and contractual models, particularly those involving early contractor involvement, an area in which we regularly advise.
We advise not only on projects in Denmark but are also regularly involved in international projects, including projects across Northern Europe and Africa, as well as in offshore projects. We have gained in-depth experience with international standard forms of contract, including FIDIC and NEC.
Legal Advisers to Architects and Engineers
We have long-standing relationships with technical consultants. Our clients include some of Denmark’s leading architectural and engineering practices, advising them on all matters, particularly in relation to fees for consultancy services. We are also the authors of the commentary on ABR 18 – General Conditions for Consultancy Services for Building and Construction Works.
In addition, we frequently act in professional negligence and liability disputes involving architects and engineers on behalf of insurance companies.
