For more than five decades we have been leading providers of legal services to the building and construction industry. As legal advisers to property developers, contractors, technical consultants, insurance companies, financiers and investors, we have been involved in most of the major construction and engineering projects in Denmark in recent times.

Our cornerstone
Construction law has been a cornerstone of our firm from the outset. We have built up deeper knowledge and understanding of the industry than most other law firms.

We advise clients on all aspects of construction law, from the drafting of contracts and general and special terms to providing advice on insurance matters, public regulation and claims of all kinds.

We also provide assistance to clients in matters of risk management and mitigation. Additionally, we tackle the challenges posed by procurement law and handle construction litigation and arbitration, both of which areas have developed into special disciplines of their own.

The projects in which we are involved range from conventional building and construction projects to infrastructure projects, hospitals projects, process plants, power stations and offshore projects such as wind farms.

New approaches and international projects
In its quest for optimisation, the building and construction industry is developing new types of agreements in relation to which we act as advisers, particularly contracts involving early contractor involvement.

We do not just advise on projects in Denmark, but are also regularly involved in projects abroad, for example in northern Europe and Africa, as well as in offshore projects. We have in-depth knowledge of international standard contracts such as FIDIC and NEC3.

Legal advisers to architects and engineers
We have always worked closely with technical consultants, advising them on their legal position. Our clients include many of the leading architectural practices and engineering firms in Denmark, whom we advise on all types of legal matters, in particular the determination of fees for agreed consultancy services. We have also contributed to the comments on ABR 18 – General conditions for consultancy services for building and construction works.

In addition, we are regularly instructed by insurance companies to act in cases concerning the liability of architects and engineers
