Dispute resolution
Dispute resolution is one of our core competencies. We conduct court and arbitration cases and represent clients before complaints boards in many fields of law, and also assist in relation to other types of dispute resolution.
Experienced litigation attorneys
Our legal services cover the entire process, from advice on whether to institute proceedings at all to assistance in the gathering of evidence and in main hearings.
We regularly represent construction clients, contractors, technical consultants and insurance companies in court and before the Danish Building and Construction Arbitration Board in cases concerning defects, delays, disruption, additional claims and claims for damages. In addition, we frequently represent contracting authorities and complainants in cases brought before the Danish Complaints Board for Public Procurement concerning building and construction work, procurement and supply. We also represent clients in cases concerning all aspects of the purchase, sale and development of real estate, as well as cases concerning residential and commercial lease law.
We also represent clients in litigation and arbitration in other fields of law such as public law, IT law, IPR law, company law, share transfer law, competition law, law of contract and general commercial law.
Under foreign skies
We have extensive experience in managing international cases and provide general advice on governing law and venue.
We represent clients in connection with international building and construction projects, infrastructure projects, power plants and offshore projects, as well as in matters relating to the construction of industrial facilities and process plants. In addition, we have conducted cases before the European Court of Justice.
Arbitration
We know more about arbitration than most. Our attorneys represent parties and act as arbitrators in Danish and international arbitration cases heard before various institutes of arbitration and also on an ad hoc basis.
We are the authors of one of the leading books on arbitration law, Voldgiftsret, which is regularly updated with information about relevant new case law in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
Solomonic solutions
Far from all disputes need to end in court. In consultation with our clients, we consider options for reaching settlements and provide advice in negotiations to the extent necessary. We also offer advice in relation to conciliation, mediation, speedy decisions, dispute review boards and other kinds of alternative dispute resolution. Several of our attorneys are certified mediators.
