The Danish Building and Construction Arbitration Board has issued a partial award in the ongoing arbitration proceedings between the Cityringen’s civil works contractor and Metroselskabet, acting as the contracting authority.

The partial award determines the first phase of the arbitration proceedings, which have been ongoing since 2016, and fully acquits Metroselskabet of the claims brought by the civil works contractor that have been subject to adjudication.

VILTOFT has advised and assisted Metroselskabet throughout the entire Cityringen project, including the arbitration proceedings. It has been a privilege to do so.

VILTOFT’s team in the matter has consisted of Peter Fauerholdt Thommesen, Henrik Hauge Andersen, Jacob Allon, Jakob Juel Justesen, Gitte Glamsø Reesen, Christian Parmo Buur and Sanne Nielsen.

Dorthe Dahm-Malling and Sebastian C. Wilk have been certified as mediators, having completed the Danish Bar and Law Society’s mediator training programme.

Mediation is increasingly being used as an alternative dispute resolution method, including within the construction and engineering sector.

With the start of autumn, we are pleased to welcome another new colleague, Sofie Anderskouv.

Sofie graduated with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in 2024 and is now a second-year assisted attorney with experience in residential and commercial tenancy law as well as dispute resolution. Sofie will be joining our Real Estate team.

Following the summer break, we are pleased to welcome a new colleague, Peter Carlstedt Nørtved.

Peter qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and has worked at several large law firms. Over the course of his long career, he has built up extensive experience particularly in court and arbitration proceedings as well as dispute resolution. Peter is especially specialised in shipping and insolvency.

Peter will be joining our Construction and Dispute Resolution teams.
