Gitte Glamsø Reesen is a specialist in construction, real estate, litigation and dispute resolution.

Gitte advises public authorities, corporations, private enterprises, and insurance companies on all aspects of construction, frequently in connection with significant disputes in megaprojects and matters concerning consultants’ professional liability in construction.

Her advice covers a broad spectrum, including the drafting of contracts, legal and strategic advice on dispute management, conducting expert appraisals before both the ordinary courts and the Danish Building and Construction Arbitration Board, as well as handling court and arbitration proceedings.

Gitte has extensive experience in planning and managing large-scale court and arbitration cases in close collaboration with the client’s legal and technical staff and other consultants.

Since early 2022, Gitte has been advising the insurers of a consortium of consultants involved in the construction of a large hospital complex, a so-called super hospital. Her advice includes representation in arbitration proceedings before the Danish Building and Construction Arbitration Board in a case involving a claim with a value in the eight-figure range in Euros , as well as coordination of multiple expert appraisals.

In 2024, Gitte also advised a major Danish construction company in negotiations on supplementary works agreements valued in the eight-figure range in Euros and oversaw a substantial expert appraisal proceedings in Greenland.

In 2023, Gitte assisted a Danish energy company in mediation proceedings at the Danish Institute of Arbitration in a dispute valued in the eight-figure range in Euros.

Gitte has also acted as secretary to arbitration tribunals in international institutional arbitration procedures (ICC and SCC) on commercial disputes.

Previously, Gitte has been deeply involved in both the preparation and the conduct of several of the first landmark arbitration cases concerning liability for the use of MgO panels in construction.

In addition, Gitte regularly assists publicly owned developers in major arbitration cases concerning various infrastructure and construction projects.

Gitte speaks the Scandinavian languages and English.
