Profile

Over the past fifteen years, Morten Ruben Brage has focused primarily on construction law and has represented clients in numerous cases before the Danish Building and Construction Arbitration Board and the ordinary courts. 

Throughout his career, Morten has advised some of Denmark’s largest and most prominent developers and project owners on complex infrastructure projects, claims management, and dispute resolution. For a number of years, he has also acted as a trusted advisor to several major consultant consortia involved in the construction of some of Denmark’s largest public projects, including any subsequent arbitration proceedings arising from those projects. 

Morten has extensive experience advising all parties involved in construction projects on professional liability matters, as well as disputes concerning the financial consequences of project delays.

In addition, Morten has considerable experience advising on complex environmental law matters, including environmental impact assessments (EIAs), compulsory acquisition proceedings, and other restrictions affecting the use of real estate.

Since 2017, Morten has been a regular lecturer on the accredited +2 Programme for architects. He also regularly delivers courses and lectures on construction law and related topics.

References

From 2015 to 2023, Morten served as lead legal adviser in connection with the construction of the BIO4 plant.

For many years, Morten has acted as principal counsel to leading consultants and project insurance companies on several large-scale and complex public construction projects involving extensive expert appraisals, claims and counterclaims, and complex arbitration proceedings.

Morten has also served for many years as legal adviser and trusted sparring partner to one of Denmark’s largest developers in connection with the construction of a major biofuel plant with a project value exceeding DKK 1 billion.

Morten speaks the Scandinavian languages and English.
