Peter Fauerholdt Thommesen has advised and represented clients in a wide range of matters, including the following:

• Legal adviser on all construction and procurement aspects of the Cityringen (Copenhagen Metro) project, including the Nordhavn Extension (opened in 2020) and the Sydhavn Extension (opened in 2024)
• Legal adviser on all construction and procurement aspects of the Odense Light Rail project (opened in 2022) and the Greater Copenhagen Light Rail project (opened in 2026)
• Counsel for public-sector developers in several major arbitration proceedings against Danish and international infrastructure contractors involving claims and counterclaims relating to variations, delays and disruption, liquidated damages and defects

• Legal adviser in connection with the establishment of public-private urban developments, including NærHeden, Høje-Taastrup C and Kildedal
• Counsel for technical consultants in several arbitration proceedings against public-sector employers and developers concerning professional liability, liquidated damages and claims for additional remuneration, including disputes arising out of some of Denmark’s major hospital construction projects
• Legal adviser to private-sector and public-sector employers and developers regarding the development of collaborative delivery models and the drafting of early contractor involvement (ECI) agreements for construction and infrastructure projects
• Counsel for copyright holders in proceedings before the Danish Supreme Court concerning the Danish State’s incorrect implementation of the EU Information Society Directive (InfoSoc Directive) into Danish law

As an arbitrator, Peter has been appointed in more than thirty ad hoc and institutional arbitrations (ICC, SCC and DIA) concerning a wide range of commercial matters, including construction, infrastructure, commercial contracts, international sale of goods, shareholder and partner disputes, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, insurance, IT and energy. Peter has served as presiding arbitrator, co-arbitrator, sole arbitrator, emergency arbitrator and expedited arbitrator.

Peter speaks the Scandinavian languages, English and French.
